Beach Boys Begin Tour At London’s Royal Albert Hall With Dates Into Fall Featuring John Stamos On Drums from May 24- June 5th
LOS ANGELES, CA, MAY 11, 2017— The Beach Boys, widely considered one of the most influential bands in rock and roll, will set out on its Wild Honey World Tour across the U.S. and Europe. The tour begins on May 18th at the Royal Albert Hall in London and will wind through the U.K. and Europe before heading to the US. The band is set to perform several US dates including the Beacon Theater in New York City on August 17th. The tour will continue into fall of 2017 and feature the band’s beloved summer sound as they perform a mix of their greatest hits and fan favorites.
“We are so excited to begin our Wild Honey World Tour. It is such an amazing experience to witness generations of fans, from all corners of the world, come together to celebrate our music,” said Mike Love, lead singer and co-founder of The Beach Boys. “It is incredible to see our fans, show after show, city after city, country after country, dancing and singing along to these songs we have loved and performed for decades.”
On May 16th London’s Union Chapel will host “An Evening with the Beach Boys’ Mike Love.” Mike will discuss the incredible story of The Beach Boys and his own personal journey in music with The Times’ rock and pop editor, Ed Potton. Additionally, the city of Knokke-Heist, Belgium, will honor The Beach Boys’ 30 year anniversary of performing in the city on June 5th with a ceremonial event at Town Hall. Mayor Count Leopold Lippens will unveil a commemorative plaque on the beach where the Beach Boys performed 30 years ago and grant the band honorary citizenship.
During the Wild Honey World Tour, award-winning actor and musician John Stamos is set to join The Beach Boys on drums from May 24th to June 5th. Stamos started performing with the band in 1985 and has made many guest appearances over the years on various tours. He appeared in The Beach Boy’s music video for their hit single “Kokomo” and served as executive producer on the film, The Beach Boys: An American Family.
The Grammy® Award-winning and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band, The Beach Boys, features Mike Love, Bruce Johnston, Scott Totten, Jeffrey Foskett, Brian Eichenberger, Tim Bonhomme, and John Cowsill. The Beach Boys perform year round with 150 sold-out shows across the globe.
The Wild Honey World Tour follows The Beach Boy’s highly successful 50 Years of Good Vibrations Tour. This tour was in tribute to the band’s 1966 track, “Good Vibrations,” which celebrated its 50th Anniversary, October 10th 2016. The tour included special dates such as the National Memorial Day Concert in Washington, D.C. to honor U.S. troops, a July 4th concert at New York’s famed Coney Island Boardwalk as well as a special performance with the National Symphony Orchestra at The Kennedy Center to honor the 50th anniversary of the band’s landmark album, “Pet Sounds.” Additionally, The Beach Boys co-founder and lead singer, Mike Love, released his memoir on September 13th, 2016. Love’s book entitled GOOD VIBRATIONS: My Life as a Beach Boy, was published by Blue Rider Press, a member of Penguin Group (USA) and quickly made its way to the top of the New York Times Best Seller list.
